Anaerobics

RiChem anaerobic adhesives are one-component reactive adhesives that harden, when deprived of air between close fitting metal parts, into tough plastic resins. A range of strength and viscosity products are available to meet all your needs.

Mechanism of Anaerobic Locking and Sealing

Microscopic surface irregularities exist even with precision machined parts. Gaps exist that reduce the contacct area between assembled parts. Engineering adhesives fill these gaps, giving full contact and evenly distributing forces across the joint.

Retaining adhesives augment the strength of interference fits and permit the design of slip fitted assemblies. They seal against moisture penetration and corrosion.

Anaerobic adhesives fill the threads completely and prevent movement and vibration loosening. Anaerobic gaskets permit the application of maximum metal to metal clamp load. Unlike pre-cut gaskets, they do not relax or creep and there is no need to re-torque.

Thread Lockers

Thread lockers lock and seal threaded fasteners against loosening from vibration, replacing the need for spring washers and Nylock nuts or any other locking mechanism. The voids between threads are with hard plastic resin thus stopping corrosion and leaking.

Retainer

Retainer grades can be relied upon to firmly fix cylindrical mating parts. Press fit static friction is increased by up to 3 times mormal levels. Press fits can be replaced by slip fits with extended tolerance ranges. The joint space is sealed thus eliminating fretting corrosion.

Sealing

Sealing and gasketing anaerobics are ideal for the sealing of both flat mating surfaces and threaded pipes. Not only are good liquid and gas seals achieved but also good shock and vibration resistance. These products have high pressure and chemical resistance.
